Southwest Veterinary Hospital, in south central Oklahoma is seeking to add a full and/or part time veterinarian. We are located in a rural setting just one mile from the college town of Norman, Oklahoma. The state of Oklahoma has one of the lowest costs of living in the nation. Southwest Veterinary Hospital is an individually owned, non-corporate veterinary hospital that has been operating continually for 30 years. We are frequently voted among the client’s favorite in “The Best of Norman”.

The practice is fast paced, yet low stress and laid back. Appointment schedule is 33 hours a week. There are no emergency, on call duties, no nights or weekends. We enjoy practicing in a highly equipped, modern facility that was fully remodeled and expanded last year. The well compensated support staff are long-term employees who greatly contribute to the efficiency and light rapport of the practice. Weekly meetings include all staff and owner in attendance. The owner’s door is always open. We do a great job taking care of our patients and have fun doing so. We offer full diagnostic, surgical, and dental services to our clients using digital radiograph, ultrasound, complete in house Idexx laboratory including urinary analyzer, and digital cytology. Our highly skilled support staff employ up to date induction protocols, maintain with gas anesthesia, and advanced surgical monitoring. We offer soft tissue surgery, spays/neuters, exploratory surgeries, orthopedic procedures including internal and external fracture repair and we have recently added TPLO’s to our list of services. Associates will need sound diagnostic skills, and while surgery skills are a plus, they are certainly not necessary. People skills and the ability to work with others, is however, a requirement. Mentoring comes naturally to the professional staff, who are more than willing to help associates advance to a high level of professional and financial success. New graduates will certainly be considered.

Compensation for practicing veterinarians will begin negotiations at $115,000.00 and will go up based on experience and capabilities. New graduates start at $98,000.00 and go up, based on capabilities once they gain a foot hold in the practice. Our quarterly incentive program can greatly enhance your earnings. Benefits package includes health insurance, life insurance, paid time off, licensing continuing education stipend, student loan repayment help, and association dues, etc. Assistance with relocation costs can be provided along with staff that can help make arrangements for your move.

An Oklahoma veterinary license in good standing and appropriate regulatory credentials are a must. A positive outlook, and the desire to provide excellent patient care will help secure your financial future.
