For Immediate Release – Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – May 4, 2020 – The Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) Board of Directors is tasked with reviewing and monitoring multiple facets of the association to ensure that the association is serving its member’s needs, being financially responsible and secure, and abiding by guidelines set in place. One item that they had been assigned with reviewing was the practice membership.
Practice memberships were discussed in multiple board meetings and a large amount of data was presented at the board’s request to ensure they could make an informed decision. After reviewing the data, the OVMA Board voted on and approved to remove the practice membership option starting with the 2020/2021 membership. “One of our main goals is to provide value to our membership and with that goal in mind, the board collectively decided to make the fee uniform for all active members, regardless of the size of the practice they work in,” said Dr. Schoonover, OVMA President.
As a reminder to the OVMA membership, current memberships will expire on July 1, 2020. You can log in to your membership profile and renew your membership online at your convenience by clicking here.
